The UvA Abroad

Dutch Institutes Abroad
The University of Amsterdam collaborates with five other Dutch universities in the management of eight educational instutions abroad. These institutions are located in Athens, St. Petersburg, Cairo, Florence, Rome, Madrid, Damascus and Tokyo. They function as a bridge between the participating Dutch universities and institutions of higher education in the host countries. Their aim is to stimulate academic and cultural ties, thereby facilitating individual exchanges and visits by students and researchers.
The UvA is responsible for both the academic programme and the administration of the Netherlands Institute in Athens (NIA) and the Netherlands Institute in St. Petersburg (NIP).
