Bikes are the favourite means of transport in the Netherlands. The UvA has a special bike rental scheme specifically for international students.

Public transport

The Netherlands has an excellent public transport system. You can get almost anywhere you want on the train, bus, or tram.

Work

Working in the Netherlands

As an international student it might be difficult to find a job in the Netherlands. Students from non-EU countries first need a work permit before they can work legally.
