Bikes are the favourite means of transport in the Netherlands. The UvA has a special bike rental scheme specifically for international students.

The Netherlands has an excellent public transport system. You can get almost anywhere you want on the train, bus, or tram.

As an international student it might be difficult to find a job in the Netherlands. Students from non-EU countries first need a residence permit before they can work legally.
