The following UvA students and staff are the people you meet in the films:

Raul Andres Leal (Colombia)

Raul Andres Leal (age 24), MSc in Logic at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation: "The ILLC is a special institute for logic, mathematics, philosophy, psychology..." 

Mimis Chrysomallis (Greece)

Mimis Chrysomallis (age 24), MA in European Studies: "If I could travel in time, I'd probably go back just one year ago, so that I could live all over again the experiences that I've been through so far in Amsterdam!"

Dr Joyce Goggin

Dr Joyce Goggin is lecturer in English and Comparative Literature as well as film and new media, and is particularly interested in video game studies. She came to the UvA originally to do postdoctoral research on the Dutch art market in the 17th century and loved the city so much that she applied for a job there.

Lea Kulinowski (France)

Lea Kulinowski (age 22). Lea first came to the UvA as an exchange student and is now enrolled in the master's in International and European Law: "I am doing a workshop at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, which is a great opportunity."

Peter Miskovic (Slovakia)

Peter Miskovic (age 22), BSc in Economics and Business.

Corbett Daniel Parker (USA)

Corbett Daniel Parker (age 25), Master' s in European Private Law: "Knowlege calls ultimately for a life of service. The good we do for ourselves dies with us, but good we do for others lives on forever."

Milka Sokolovic (Serbia)

Milka Sokolović (age 36), at the time of filming a PhD student in molecular biology/genomics, has just started with a post-doc at the Academic Medical Center of the UvA: "All the equipment you could wish for, is in the lab."

Srdan Tatomir (Croatia)

Srdan Tatomir (age 19), BSc in Economics and Business: "I chose the UvA because I thought I could fulfil my potential here. There are a lot of opportunies and companies that help you with internships."

Melanie Wolf (Germany)

Melanie Wolf (age 25), research MSc in Communication Science (focusing on qualitative research methods and popular culture): "UvA's cultural centre Crea offers a really good opportunity for meeting Dutch people."

Zhiming Zhao (China)

Zhiming Zhao (age 33) took his PhD degre at the UvA and now works as researcher in E-Science and Grid Computing at the Faculty of Science: "I like this university: there are many international students here. And Science Park has great facilities, advanced computer networks and talented people."
