Contents of the programme

Nieuwgriekse taal en cultuur

Greece is on the border between the East and the West, between Europe and Asia. So it occupies a very special position in Europe. It also has a different religion and a different alphabet than the other countries in the European Union. Greek culture has nonetheless exerted a great deal of influence on the Western world. Greece was not only the birthplace of the theatre and democracy, there is also the popular Greek cuisine. And with its numerous islands and sunny climate, Greece is a favourite destination for Dutch tourists.
Has your interest in the Ancient Greece of the Classics sparked your interest in modern Greece, or does the history and culture of modern-day Greece appeal to you? The bachelor’s in Modern Greek language and culture provides ample opportunity to learn all there is to know about Greece.
