The Graduate School of Teaching and Learning (ILO) provides initial teacher training, in-service training and research in 23 school subjects.

After obtaining a master’s degree, students can opt for another full year of teacher training. Graduates of the teacher training programme are qualified to teach in secondary education, and have a specialisation for teaching in higher forms of secondary education.

The initial teacher-training course takes one year full-time, and two years part-time. Students wishing to apply for one of these programmes need to apply to the Graduate School of Teaching and Learning directly (instead of following the standard application procedure that applies to other study programmes taught in Dutch).
