Student rooms

The UvA rents rooms from housing corporations De Key and DUWO.

The Short Stay offices offer the following different types of accommodation:

  • single rooms with private facilities (kitchen, bathroom),
  • single rooms with shared facilities (kitchen, bathroom),
  • shared rooms, in which one living space is shared between two students (of the same gender),
  • couples room, studios or apartments with private facilities (limited in supply).

A shared room means you live in one room together with another student. In most shared rooms the kitchen is situated in the room itself, and there is no other common room available. Living in a shared room is a great way to make a new friend. Getting to know one another and setting some ground rules is the starting point of making your stay in a shared room a good experience. It is the cheapest type of accommodation available in the centre of Amsterdam.
