You can appply for various scholarships to cover your studies at the UvA, including the AMS and the HSP (see below). In addition to this, there is a range of other options:

The grantfinder of the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC) enables you to easily find scholarships applicable to your country.

UvA scholarships

Amsterdam Merit Scholarships (AMS)

Outstanding students from outside the European Economic Area can apply for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship at the University of Amsterdam.

Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science

European scholarships

Alban Scholarship Programme

Studies for postgraduates as well as higher training for Latin America professionals/future decision makers, in institutions or centres in the European Union.

Jean Monnet Fellowships Programme

This programme is intended for young Turkish bachelor’s degree students and professionals.

National scholarships

Indonesian Master and PhD students

There are scholarships especially for Indonesian Master and PhD students. The government of Indonesia gives 75 Indonesian students the opportunity to study at a university in the Netherlands.

Colfuturo

Students from Colombia who have been accepted for one of the study programmes taught in English can apply for a scholarship loan programme from Colfuturo.

Canadian students

Canadian students may also apply for a government loan. The code for Canadian loans is QUAI.

FFELP Stafford and GradPLUS loans

American students can apply for a Federal Family Education Loan Program Stafford loan (FFELP) or GRADplus loan.

Fulbright scholarships

Fulbright Scholarships are available for American graduate students and researchers.

Other

The Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window Lot 13.

EMECW13 facilitates academic interaction between Europe and India and gives researchers, students and staff the opportunity to attend one of the partner universities via a scholarship covering their expenses. This project will make 183 scholarships available to either study or conduct research at a major European or Indian centre of learning.

WWF: The Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program (EFN)

The Russel E. Train Education for Nature Program offers a number of scholarships, fellowships and short-term training grants for students of undergraduate, graduate and professional level.

Other sources

Academic departments, professional affiliations or research institutes may be willing to finance study abroad.
