Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics (KdVI)

KdVI works for the advancement of theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics and promotes the appreciation of mathematics in other academic disciplines and society as a whole. Research themes include: algebra, geometry, analysis, mathematical physics, dynamical systems, numerical analysis, stochastics and financial mathematics.

VU University Amsterdam, Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics offers balanced training in mathematics and its applications in the broadest sense. It occupies a leading position in geometry, mathematical analysis and stochastics. Major research themes are: topology, geometry, applied analysis, probability statistics and operations research.

Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI)

Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) performs fundamental scientific research in mathematics and computer science. CWI transfers the acquired knowledge to society and industry. The institute's strategy for the period up to 2012 is inspired by four broad, societal relevant themes: (i) earth and life sciences, (ii) the data explosion, (iii) societal logistics and (iv) software as service.
