Graduates of the Master's programme in Ecology and Evolution are eligible for PhD positions at the UvA, as well as academic institutes such as the Dutch Institute for Ecology and the National Institute for Public Health and Environment, and at other universities around the world.

Alternatively, graduates can progress to management and research positions within commercial businesses (e.g., Plant Research International), public service and governmental agencies (e.g. Municipal Health Service in Amsterdam or the Institute for Marine Resources & Ecosystem Studies). Graduates may also choose a career in education.
