Labour Law: European and International  Labour Law

A programme solely devoted to labour law

The Master of European and International Labour Law is a specialised graduate programme designed to study labour law in its broadest sense. It is unique in its sort and a response to the great demand for specialised labour lawyers.

The approach is both international (EU law, ILO) and multi-national: we go beyond the national approach that is common to most juridical curricula. This goal is achieved by providing the opportunity to study, compare and discuss the various national approaches to labour law that exist especially in Europe.

Career prospects

The programme is exceptionally well suited for (future) lawyers, policy makers, employee representatives (e.g. in European Works Councils) who aspire to be or already are professionally active in the field of (international) labour law. Labour Law specialists with a broader, legal view are - and have always been - in great demand.

Application and admission

Those without experience in European law follow a 'crash course' in European law before starting the regular curriculum, which includes European Labour Law, Comparative Labour Law and Social Dialogue and Collective Bargaining. Optional courses include Restructuring Companies, Worker Involvement and Equal Treatment in the EU.

Accreditation and degree

Labour Law is a track of the Master's programme in Arbeidsrecht. This programme has been assessed by the Accreditation Organisation of The Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). This means that upon completion of the programme students will receive a legally accredited Master's degree in Arbeidsrecht and the title Master of Laws.
