Why New Media at the University of Amsterdam?
I'm fascinated by new technologies and how they affect our perspective of the world. I chose the MA in New Media because I wanted to learn about Internet, blogs and the subject in general.
The University of Amsterdam is one of the best in Europe. I thought that studying in Amsterdam would show me new perspectives. I hoped that I would meet smart and interesting people, and that I would learn about a culture different from Romania. I was right and I'm really happy with my choice. Especially because Holland is so multicultural: you get to know people from all over the world and share different experiences.
About the programme
What I really liked about the programme was the philosophical approach to technology. This approach was very critical and it offered numerous points of view on one matter. However, I have to admit the programme was not easy.Right now I'm writing my Master's thesis. I think I will have many possibilities to get a very good job after I finish.
About the University of Amsterdam
The university is very modern and offers students many advantages. In Romania I didn't have the chance to go to a nice and quiet computer room to study. Students here are very ambitious and they follow deadlines. In Romania we had deadlines as well, but it was easier to manage to get an extension.
