American Studies (MA)

The Master's programme in American Studies is an English-language track of the Master's programme in History. The programme is organised by the Department of History, Archaeology and Area Studies of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam.

Lecturers

Dr Eduard van de Bilt 
is senior lecturer in American Studies. His specialisations include: nineteenth century American intellectual history and US politics.  

Dr Georg Blaustein
is senior lecturer in American Studies. His specialisations include: Trans-Atlantic relations and American Cultural Presence abroad.  

Prof.  Ruud Janssens 
is professor in American Studies. His specialisations include: US-Asian and US-European relations. He is the MA director of the Master's degree programme in American Studies.

Eric Olsen MA
is lecturer in American Studies. His specialisations include:
Intelligence and the Power relations between President and Congress.

Marja Roholl MA
is lecturer in American Studies. Her specialisations include: Dutch-American relations, Public diplomacy and the United States in the 1930's.
