Master Politicologie

De master politicologie biedt een wetenschappelijke verdieping op de bachelor Politicologie en andere verwante bachelors. Binnen de master Politicologie kun je je specialiseren in een van de volgende trajecten:

• Politieke theorie en politiek gedrag
• Bestuur en beleid
• Internationale betrekkingen / International Relations
• Conflict Resolution and Governance
• European Union in a Global Order

Politieke theorie en politiek gedrag
Politieke theorie en politiek gedrag bestudeert de verhouding tussen hoe mensen zich - individueel en collectief - in politiek opzicht zouden moeten gedragen en wat zij echt doen.

Bestuur en beleid
In deze afstudeerrichting probeert men meer zicht te krijgen op de manier waarop maatschappelijke processen verlopen en hoe hier op legitieme wijze ‘sturing' aan kan worden gegeven.

Internationale betrekkingen / International Relations
Deze specialisatie houdt zich bezig met sociale conflicten, waarvan aard, oorzaken en gevolgen nationale grenzen overschrijden, waardoor oplossingen niet meer gezocht kunnen worden binnen de kaders van de lokale of nationale politiek.

Er is behalve een Nederlandstalig masterprogramma ook een geheel Engelstalig programma International Relations.

Conflict Resolution and Governance

The Master's programme in Conflict Resolution and Governance provides students with a foundation which will allow them to develop a theoretically informed understanding of shifts in the character and significance of conflicts, consider possibilities for action in real-life situations, and transform conflict into a resource for democratic governance.

European Union in a Global Order

The  European Union in a Global Order Master's programme is a research-oriented programme that provides students with a theoretical and empirical understanding of the EU's external relations. The programme deals with the idea of a double movement, with a dual focus on the internal determination of the EU's external relations and actions (the role of state and non-state actors in the development of a Common Foreign and Security Policy, the actual decision-making process, its instruments, etc.), and on the impact of global developments, challenges and threats on foreign policy-making at the European and Member State level.
