Amsterdam Law School (ALS)

The Amsterdam Graduate School of Law  is an integral part of the Amsterdam Law School. Its offers LLM programmes.  Most of these programmes are taught in Dutch, but several are taught in English.

The School offers four English taught graduate Master of Laws (LLM) programmes.

Graduate LLM programmes

  • European Private Law
  • International and European Law
    Options:
    - Public International Law
    - International Trade and Investment Law
    - European Union Law
    - European Competition Law and Regulation
  • International Criminal Law
  • Research Master Public International Law
  • Labour Law: European and International Labour Law

These graduate programmes are designed for students who have obtained a Bachelor of laws (or comparable) degree or students who have obtained a Bachelor's (or comparable) degree in another discipline. 

Summer school and seminars

In co-operation with Columbia University School of Law and Leyden University School of Law in the Netherlands, the Amsterdam Law School organises a four-week programme on American Law for undergraduate and postgraduate law students.

The Amsterdam Law School also organises seminars and provides training on international and European law topics. The School has won several tender competitions for training contracts awarded by the European Commission for the training of national civil servants as well as European Community officials.
