Master's programmes

Master's programmes are one-year programmes leading to a Master of Laws (LLM degree). The Amsterdam Graduate School of Law offers four regular Master's programmes:

  • European Private Law
  • International and European Law
    Specialisations:
    - Public International Law
    - International Trade and Investment Law
    - European Union Law
    - European Competition Law and Regulation
  • International Criminal Law
  • Labour Law: European and International Labour Law

Research Master's programme

The Amsterdam Graduate School of Law also offers a two-year Research Master's programme:

  • Research Master's programme in Public International Law

Certificate courses

International students who are interested in temporarily following a course in Law at the UvA can either come through an official exchange programme, or as an independent fee-paying student. Courses for both exchange and independent students are offered in the Amsterdam EXchange programme of the Amsterdam Law School.

Summer programmes

The Columbia Summer Program in American Law provides a general introduction into the American legal system with emphasis on areas of particular interest to European lawyers. The programme runs for 4 weeks, and takes alternately in Amsterdam and Leiden each summer in July and August. Even years Leiden, odd years Amsterdam.
